Happy Birthday To Me

It's almost my 32nd birthday. Where have the years gone? My mid 20's seem like such a short time ago. It's really very odd to think that I'm 32. Not in a bad way...just in a where have the years gone kind of way. Luckily I have many friends that I've made along the way. Last Saturday I hosted a wonderful party where many of those friends were able to attend. It was a fantastic time with great food, drinks, conversation and games. Big thanks to Noelle and Sayde for helping prepare the food. It truly was fantastic. Thanks to all the other attendees for making my party the best one I've had so far.

Pre-Spring Cleaning

It's time for the pre-spring cleaning again. It's amazing how dirty a house can get isn't it? Where does all the dirt come from? Yesterday I spent the morning cleaning the main floor of the house. Vaccuming, dusting..you know the drill. Today I'm cleaning the upstairs which includes the bathroom. Fun times huh? Why don't I just hire the marry maids??

I watched Dreamgirls with Shawn yesterday and I really liked it. Jennifer Hudson is awesome!!! She can sing like no one else. The music for the movie is fantastic and everyone in the cast did a fantastic job. I'll definitely buy it when it comes out and I'm totally going to be purchasing the soundtrack as well.

We finally have our snow for the year. It's only 2 months late, but at least it is finally here. The only problem is that I can't go do my drive in my boot or I'd slide right down my driveway and break myself. Anyone wanna come do my drive?

Yeah...I went and picked up my squishies...um you all know them as dogs...this evening. I missed them so much I could barely stand it. So now the family is all happy and reunited. Baci, Beebe and Tim...The perfect Human/Puppy family.

Lazy Days

Just sitting her on the couch getting frost bite on my foot, from the ice pack, listening to music and surfing the web trying to find the perfect tree to plant in my front yard. Who would have thought that picking a tree would be such a monumental task. Not only do you have to find one that you like aesthetically but you have to worry about the soil types, hardiness zones, health of the tree variety and the list just goes on and on. I was kind of thinking that I would like a Witch Hazel, since they bloom in the winter, but it doesn't really give me the look I'm wanting in the space. Although I will probably get a nice small shrub variety to put somewhere else in the garden because I like the idea of a winter flowering tree and they are suppose to be very fragrant. So now I'm looking at different Japanese Maples, of course to buy one you almost have to mortgage your home. No they aren't that expensive, but they are not cheap. They are beautiful however. The leaves are a wonderful texture and shape and the year round color is unbelievable. You don't have to wait for fall in order to see the red foliage. You can get a Japanese Maple that is red year round. They really are amazing. At this point I haven't found the perfect variety, so I'll continue my search until I do.

Surgery and Pimped Out Prom's

For those that don't know I finally get to have my final foot surgery done on Friday. Oddly enough I'm kind of looking forward to it for a couple of reasons. First, yeah for being able to walk without your foot hurting. For the last several years my body has decided that it needs to deposit calcium on my big toe joint. Something about the bones hitting when my toe bends back and the body thinking it is a great way to protect the bone. You'd think the body would know and do the right thing right? Well...No...Not so much. Instead it just means that I can't bend my big toe back all the way anymore because the calcium deposits. So after Friday the problem will be gone and after my healing period and some sadistic personal physical therapy I will be all good to go. Second, those anesthetics are really nice. Wow...I'm not really into drugs, but if I could buy that stuff on the street I think I could be convinced...talk about a happy Tim when I come out from under those anesthetic drugs. Now of course I have to wear the big dreaded boot for 6 to 8 weeks, but maybe it could be the new style for spring? Or I can at least tell myself that right.

So wish me luck and send me your good thoughts for Friday. :)

PS: Marc...loved the prom outfit. I bet the girls, I mean guys, I mean girls...ah you know what I mean....couldn't keep their hands off you. :)

Orchid Time

Orchid time just doesn't roll off the lips like Hammer Time did does it? Not to mention the poor orchid can't do that shuffle dance that MC Hammer is so famous for. So why all this orchid talk you ask? Well, today I bought a new orchid to add a little beauty and color to the house. Not to mention I wanted something that would be in bloom for my birthday party in a couple of weeks. So now I'm a household of 2 dogs and 2 orchids. Yes I'm still quite a bit shy of Dawn's zoo of turtles, snakes, cats and fish but a single guy can only have so many things to take care of right?

On to other news. Shawn cut my hair today and I am lovin' it. It's way shorter and more fun. Getting a hair cut is always one of those things that just makes you feel good ya know? I suppose it could also be the 25 lbs I've lost and the 100 sit ups I do a day. Who knows. lol. It does make me feel good losing some weight though and toning up is always nice, even though I'm pretty toned from doing Yoga on a regular basis anyway. The gay community can be pretty unforgiving of guys that are not the thin buff ideal. Plus you just don't feel as attractive unless you look how you think others expect you to look. It's that whole cult of masculinity thing rearing its ugly head I guess. At any rate I would like to lose another 20 lbs or so. Should be easily attainable by April.

Off to do my yoga. Namaste!

Great Whippet Video/Photo's

I came across this video on YouTube. Someone compiled some fantastic photo's of their Whippet and set it to music. Being an amateur photographer I'm very impressed with the photos. They did a great job of capturing the essence and personality of a whippet.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year's day everyone. It is really amazing to think that it is the year 2007. Where has the time gone? I had a fantastic time last night over at Scot's house playing games, drinking wine and watching movies. It's always fun being the only gay guy at a party because you get so much more freedom to make jokes than a straight guy would. Plus all the women love you which I'm sure just drives straight guys crazy. Right Scot?

So 10 minutes before midnight Scot asks everyone what their New Years resolution was going to be for 2007. Of course he said this with slurred speech since he drank 3/4 of a bottle of vanilla vodka. Having only had 3 glasses of wine over the evening I was more than lucid enough to think about this and realize three things. 1) I had not really even thought about it until he asked. 2) Worry about what in the world I was going to say since I hadn't thought about it. 3) Finally I realized that I hold myself back in a lot of ways from allowing myself to enjoy life and feel truly happy. You see I'm the good one...the logical one...the one that ensures that things are always done when they're suppose to be...the one that always follows up on everything and everyone else. I suppose that these things inherently are not bad things because ultimately that is who I am. However, what I am realizing is that I don't always need to be the driver and sometimes it is OK to sit back and enjoy the ride. Since I'm usually the one pushing and driving I tend to miss the fun times and the nice details along the way. So my New Year's resolution this year is to step back and enjoy life more. I know I'll never be able to completely step back, but I can certainly let other people be the driving force more often and enjoy the ride.

I hope you all have a great New Year's and a fantastic 2007.
