Just sitting her on the couch getting frost bite on my foot, from the ice pack, listening to music and surfing the web trying to find the perfect tree to plant in my front yard. Who would have thought that picking a tree would be such a monumental task. Not only do you have to find one that you like
aesthetically but you have to worry about the soil types, hardiness zones, health of the tree variety and the list just goes on and on. I was kind of thinking that I would like a Witch Hazel, since they bloom in the winter, but it doesn't really give me the look I'm wanting in the space. Although I will probably get a nice small
shrub variety to put somewhere else in the garden because I like the idea of a winter flowering tree and they are suppose to be very fragrant. So now I'm looking at different Japanese Maples, of course to buy one you almost have to
mortgage your home. No they aren't that expensive, but they are not cheap. They are beautiful however. The leaves are a wonderful texture and shape and the year round color is unbelievable. You don't have to wait for fall in order to see the red
foliage. You can get a Japanese Maple that is red year round. They really are amazing. At this point I haven't found the perfect variety, so I'll continue my search until I do.
