Baci Coursing

Baci

 “Baci”, whose name means kisses in Italian, was our wonderful introduction to whippets and in many ways the dog community. One reason we chose whippets was because we knew we wanted to be involved with our dog on more than just a pet level. Not knowing exactly what we wanted to be involved in we chose a breed that could introduce us to just about anything we would want to try in the dog world.

At our first show ever Baci thrilled us by going reserve to a 3 point major. During his respectable show career and in novice hands Baci gained 7 points and several reserve placements. On the coursing field he was even more impressive and gained his 1st and many 2nd place placements, of course he’s a smart one and now tries to outsmart the “bunny” by taking shortcuts and has figured out where the bunny comes from so always bypasses the bags and the other dogs at the end of course and runs right up to the reel to investigate the source. Baci also did well at agility and has earned his UKC Agility 1 title.

Baci will continue lure coursing and may revisit agility at some point. He may even try his paw at obedience in the near future.
