The foundation of our kennel is the lovely SBIS Ch Diva’s Bohem Elisir D’Amore
SC. “Beebe” is a daughter of SBIS DC Chelsea Gold Rush ROMX and BIS Ch Bohem
Age of Innocence and is living up to her illustrious heritage quite well.
Beebe came to us from Curt and Pattee Singer (Diva) in 2003 based on a
recommendation by our respected friend Bo Bengtson (Bohem). Beebe arrived in
Iowa with several reserve placements in tough West coast competition. At her
first show in the Midwest Beebe took reserve to her housemate Bohem C’est Si
Bon FCh, from there on her class career was a whirlwind. Some of our proudest
moments with her included her taking winner’s bitch and best of breed wins
under both Mr and Mrs Charles Trotter, taking winner’s bitch, best of breed
and a group 4 under breeder judge Dr John Shelton (Sheridan), taking winner’s
bitch for her first 5 point major under Mrs Sharon Krogh at the American
Whippet Club North Central Specialty weekend, taking a 5 point major to
finish her impressive class career under respected breeder judge Joan
Goldstein (Gold Dust) at the American Whippet Club Waukasha Support Entry and
finally taking best of breed and a group 4 to win the 2004 Greater
Chicago Whippet Club Specialty over some of the country’s top competitors
under the previously mentioned breeder judge Dr John Shelton.
Beebe’s call name comes from her great-great grandmother SBIS Ch Bohem
Whippoorwill Aria ROMX. The original Beebe is a cornerstone in Bo Bengtson’s
modern American Bohem kennel (Bo previously lived in Sweden and had much
influence in whippets throughout Europe before coming to the U.S.) and is
behind such famous dogs as 1988-89’s #1 whippet BIS SBIS Ch Bohem Delacreme
Demoiselle, BIS SBIS Ch Bohem Moonshine lullaby, BIS Ch Bohem of Thee I Sing
ROMX, BIS SBIS Aust Ch Bohem Critic’s Choice, BIS SBIS Aust Ch Statuesque
Extortion, BIS CH Bohem Age of Innocence, and the exquisite top producer of
15 champion and at least 5 best in show and specialty winning offspring
worldwide SBIS Ch Bohem All About Eve ROMX.
Bliss
For Beebe’s first litter we chose the world class stud dog BIS SBIS Am Can Fin
Nor Swed Ch Sporting Field’s Jazz Fest SC FCh ROMX, a well known producer of
such well known dogs as the beautiful 2003-2004 #1 whippet BIS SBIS Ch Tivio’s
Fallingwater, her handsome brother BIS SBIS Ch Tivio’s Chiricahua SC FCh, the
2005 Cruft’s best of breed winner Ch Rivarco Classic Jazz and the lovely
producer of many remarkable children Ch Seaspell’s Beach Music SC FCh. We
were thrilled with the results of this litter and are very happy to have
included Rory in our program.
From this breeding we kept the funny, flashy and handsome “Broc”, Isolabella’s
Amore Mio Diva. His pedigree is packed with top winning and producing
ancestors and we look forward to an exciting show and field career for him.
For Beebe’s second and final breeding we chose the handsome young stud dog Ch
Brushwood Prime Time Endeavor, a standout son of the famous “Moxi”, BIS SBIS
NSBIS Ch Brushwood Moxi of Endeavor. Through the wonders of science and in
the hands of Fed-Ex Beebe was bred to “Mork” on May 12th and again May 15th.
Puppies are expected in July.
